Ok, so I’ve finished recording all of the audio on this one, but now I’m looking for someone to play the violin/viola parts. I’ve actually been having a hard time with this, so I’m considering playing the parts myself, since I need to by a violin for my Undertale arrangement. I’ll have to see how complicated the parts are though.
This one was a little lower down on the list, but it coincided with something that has been on my personal list for a while, so I decided to add it to my workflow. I’m going to work on the theme called “Undertale,” and I’ve already finished the arrangement. I’ve recorded about one third of it already, and I’m going to have to buy and rent a couple of instruments to finish this one up (bass drum, violin, and maybe a nice sounding piano VST). Although the progress on this one is less than Dark World, I’ll probably be posting this one sooner since I’m still looking for someone to play the violin part for Dark World.
I stopped working on this one because I was working on Fear Factory, and I feel like I can only work on one David Wise composition at a time since the mixing and video editing for them always ends up being so involved and complex. But now that I’m finished with Fear Factory, I’m gonna pick this one back up again! I had barely started arranging this one when I decided to drop it and focus on Fear Factory, so I am now going to resume with arranging.
A couple of the top tracks in the Suggestion Box were neck and neck for a long time, so I was waiting for one to definitively pull ahead before I picked one to arrange. Jib Jig finally inched out above the other tracks, so I decided to put it into my workflow! I’ve just started arranging it, and everything seems to be going smoothly. Looks like I’ll only need to buy one instrument for this one (a bodrhan).
I used to be able to record every suggestion within 24 hours or so, but now that I allow everyone to vote for a higher number of tracks per survey, I have a much larger volume of data to record. As such, it might take me a while to add your votes to the list, but rest assured that the backend of the Suggestion Box is very neatly organized, ensuring that none of your votes will be lost or overlooked. So if seems like I missed your suggestion, don’t worry! I’m probably just busy, but I will definitely tally your suggestion before I upload my next video. I also never choose a suggestion to arrange without ensuring that all of the outstanding votes have been properly tallied.
My goal is to maintain a 1:1 ratio of uploads from the Suggestion Box and uploads from my personal to-do list. However, sometimes the suggestions from the Suggestion Box are a lot more challenging than my own personal selections, so they may end up taking longer to complete. If I end up working on a super complicated suggestion, I might end up modifying the upload ratio to favor my own to-do list more, but overall I will try to keep the amount of effort equal between my own list and the Suggestion Box.
My goal is to always have the top 5 or so suggestions in my workflow. Although I will try my hardest to choose suggestions with the most points, sometimes I won’t be able to for various reasons (i.e. I don’t have the proper instruments, I don’t have the ability to play a certain part, etc.). In these cases, I will clearly mark the suggestion and append a note of what is preventing me from recording it, and I will try to figure out a way to get around that barrier. In the meantime, you can continue to vote for those suggestions if you’d like, just be aware that I might not ever be able to record it depending on the nature of the problem. But I will try hard to always choose the highest rated suggestion that is within my ability!
